l am back from New Zealand and again looking for the whereabouts of THOMAS and MARY COLLING in 1891, aged 75 and 76 respectively. They were in Colliery Row in 1841-61 census, Long Row in 1871 and Overmans Row in 1881 (all Houghton). Mary died in 1893 (registered in Houghton) and Thomas in 1899. Kathy kindly searched the 1891 census for me a few months ago and found no trace, so I am assuming they must have been living in an institution or with another family, though have now definitely ruled out their children. If anyone spots their names during their searches through the 1891 census, I would be pleased if they would let me know. I feel sure they must still have been in Houghton. Regards, Margaret M.
