Hi, Can anyone suggest a local newsaper which would have a death announcement of someone dying at Ferryhill in the 1970s? I have tried the Newcastle Evening Chronicle with no luck. Thank you Jim Dolan

Darlington Library (Local Studies Dept) has most of them on film. However, if you contact the librarian, they should be able to help you. See these links for what is available at Darlington, and other newspapers. <http://www.darlington.gov.uk/Education/Library/Centre+for+Local+Studies/ Local+History.htm> <http://www.familia.org.uk/services/england/darlington.html> Northern Echo website: <http://www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk/> Hope this helps. -- Helen Oram
