Does anyone have an idea where I could get information about their work? I believe that some institutions keep records on such trades. You could seek a record of them having been members of the relevant Durham City Trades Guilds - records in Durham County Record Office and possibly some in Durham University Library. However, there were few of those for Durham City and I am not at all sure of how long they lasted. Alternatively there are always Trade Directories, which would list furniture manufacturers who might have employed cabinet makers, if they did not have their own businesses. .
