Hi Mike, I also am researching a Joseph DIXON family but rather think they are not related to yours. He married Mary ALLASON in the early 1820's. Three of their several children were Eliza, Charlotte, Sarah and John. Joseph worked for the railway and they moved around many times, within Co. Durham, then to Northants and even to Surrey so it has been difficult to I.D. them on a census. Regards. Dave.
