Hi Listers, I have just received my ggrandfathers death cert. He died Dec. 27, 1918 at age 71 years in Poor Law Institution. The address under occupation (coal miner) was George St. Easington Lane. I don't know if this is his address or the Poor Law institution. His name was Patrick McDermott. He was married to Catherine Goodman. I wondered if anyone was going through the deaths could they keep an eye out for Catherine McDermott. I imagine she outlived him, but you never know. I would like to get her death cert., also. Hi Isabel, I know its a shot in the dark but I have a serious brick wall with the McDermott family so I wonder if you would tell me more about your Patrick McDermott? My grandmother was Mary McDermott who was born in Drummettagh, Fermanagh, Ireland in 1880. She married my grand-father, William Edward Boustead in 1903 St Charles, Tudhoe, Co.Durham. Her parents were Charles McDermott and Anne Curry who were both born about 1851 in Ireland, presumably Fermanagh or Tyrone. In 1891 they were living in Merrington, Co Durham and in 1903 moved to Middlestonemoor Co.Durham although I don't know where or when he died. Do you think there may be a connection?
