Please can anyone help me? I have checked all the usual sources, but I cannot find the marriage of my Great Grandfather, Robert Hartley to M. A. Davison. Robert was born 1877c. I know my Grandfather was born at Lanchester in 1904, and that there were more children born there before moving, probably after 1925, to Horden. Co. Durham. I think Robert was widowed not long after 1925. He later moved to Castletown, Sunderland. On my Grandfathers wedding certificate the address is given as 42 Watling Street, Leadgate. He was married at Gateshead. (This could be a relatives address or digs). Robert died in 1965. I have found a marriage of M.A. Davison and Albert Victor Hartley in the 1890s, but no Robert! Hope some very kind person can put me out of my misery.
