Washington is fairly well signed - as long as you know to ignore the silly and out-of-date signs with just numbers on them! Just follow the signs to "Washington Village" or the brown ones to the Old Hall. They will bring you into Washington Village down Village Lane and past the RC Church. In more detail leave, say, the Galleries bus station on the road to Glebe and to Washington Village, passing Durham House (Washington's nearest approach to a tower block) on your left. The road swings right and after a roundabout (where you go straight on) you have B&Q on your left. Straight after that there is another roundabout, where you should take the second exit, amounting to a slight right-hand turn. After some 300 or 400 yards take a road on your left, which is a short one leading onto Village Lane and joining it more or less opposite the RC Church. Total distance - between half a mile and a mile (my guess). You could run it in less than five minutes! If this question implies that you are unfamiliar with Washington but intend to pay it a visit shortly, why not give me a ring - my number is in my signature - as long as you avoid Wednesdays and Thursdays there is a sporting chance you'll find me in (or contact me off-List for details)!
