The Superintendent Registrar was then required to send the certified COPIES of the entries to the Registrar General, these copies are known as 'the quarterly returns'. It is quite possible that in sending the returns the registrar just sent the amended details, unless the amendment occurred after a quarter's returns had been sent in, in which case he would probably send in the correction. The only way to be certain would be to get a photocopy of the original entry from the appropriate Register office. Regards Stan Mapstone
