Is anyone researching THOMPSON of Birtley? I have John Robert THOMPSON born 1894 Birtley and died in action in France July 11 1915 whilst serving with the 2nd Kings Own Light Infantry. His parents were Margaret J and William J THOMPSON. Unfortunately, I do not have any other information. Would welcome contact from anyone who thinks they may connect. He is buried at Voormezeele Enclosure No 3, Grave/Memorial Reference, VIII. B. 8. You can obtain a copy of his Medal Roll from the Docsonline service at a cost I think of £3.50. per download copy.
