Thankyou everyone for the census info, there were three more additions to the family, and the birth place for my great-grandmother was news to me, Eppleby, Yorkshire ! Elizabeth Sokell gave Durham on the 1881 census. At first I thought it could be Eppleton in Durham. I looked on Genuki and found the parish was part of Forcett, Richmondshire. Some parish records were transcribed, which included Elizabeth, and two of her brothers, these tie in with the marriage certificate I have although her maiden name on that is Sokell, (always suprises) There's another brick wall knocked down !
