Stan, -Anthony wasn't with Jane in the 1881 census as by then he had been adopted by Albert and Rachel HART. I got started on the journey of looking for Anthony's birth mother by finding that my husband's grandfather was 'Albert HART' on the 1891 census and 'Anthony DAWSON, adopted son' in the 1881 census.I sent for his birth certificate and hence my question to the list.
