Anne, Just going through the web site for ordering certificates in Co. Durham http://www.durham.gov.uk/gro/search.nsf/search?openform I found a birth certificate for Robert Finlay for 1860 in the Durham North office--that is the Stanley office. The marriage of Robert Finlay to an Isabella Leadbitter in 1884 also obtainable in the Stanley office. Isabel's birth certificate is also there only in 1862, she was born in Shotley Bridge. I the 1891 census they were living in the village of Crook. He was a brick moulder. There were no children listed. I can send you that image off list. If you get the birth certificates for these two you should get their parents names and marriage certificate should validate you have the correct couple. Janis
