There is the township of Monkwearmouth in the borough of Sunderland. It is also part of the ancient Parish of Monkwearmouth. Tudhoe Grange in the township of Tudhoe forms part of the town of Spennymoor (which was formed as a separate parish from Whitworth in 1875) and was constituted a separate parish in 1875. In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Kelloe like this: "Kelloe, par., township, and vil., Durham - par.
