I'm new to this list and hope someone can steer me in the right direction. My ancestor was Richard Merrington, who lived in Long Newton. He was a churchwarden and ran Foxey Hill Farm. Around 1745, after living all his life there, the whole family disappears from the records, and my own ancestor, his daughter Camalia, got married in London in 1757. Her will in 1808 refers to a sister Mary Gerrard of Barking, Essex. Except for that, I've lost the whole family. Can anybody suggest what might have happened and where to look? Where are Durham wills kept? Not in the County Record Office apparently. Many thanks, Jane
