I am trying to trace Francis OLIVER, who according to the 1851 census was 53 years old and born in GAINFORD, Durham. He was living in Shrewsbury, Shropshire by then and is listed as farm bailiff and had married a Shropshire girl. I can trace him downwards from there and his family. I cannot find any sign of his birth. I did find through IGI a William OLLIVER marrying Mary HODGSHON on 21 Dec 1794 in GAINFORD. Perhaps they could be his parents. Is there anybody working on the OLIVER or HODGSHON families in that area? Any information would be gratefully received. Pauline Ontario, Canada
