    3. Hello Janet,   No joy, I'm sorry to say - your date being 20th century and the database being just "19th Century British Library Newspapers", but I looked through anyway using all your keywords, just in case I could find any pre-death snippetts about them. I also went through all the 1900-1916 Myers deaths in The Times archive (which goes up to 1985). Wish I could have found you something.   Regards, Adi --- On Thu, 4/23/09, Janet Hopkins <janetchopkins@hotmail.com> wrote: #yiv1484661935 .hmmessage P { margin:0px;padding:0px;} #yiv1484661935 { font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;} Hi Adi, Do you think that you could be so kind as to look up a Maria Myers, who died about 1915?  She would have been over 80 years old, and was living in Gateshead with her son Henry on the 1911.   I have been looking for years for her maiden name,  which was listed on two of her children's birth certificates differently.  One said Snalp, and the other said Swallop.  Maria, aka Minnie, was from Holland, and likely had a heavy accent when she was registering the births.  So, I have ordered the birth certs for three other children of hers that I found, (with hubby William Myers), and we'll see how they render the elusive Dutch surname.  I am thinking it was probably Schelb, Schaap, or Schelbach, or something similar. I am hoping that any death record for her would list the maiden name, but understand that it's not likely.
