Judy... Just a wee snippet, On the 1841 census the ages of folk aged 15 yrs and over were rounded down to nearest multiple of 5 years. Ann could have informed census enumerator that she was 34, 33, 32, 31, or 30. He would recorded 30 yrs for every case. So she was possibly older than 30. Similarly if Robert was 19, 18, 17, 16 or 15, he would have been recorded as 15 yrs. Michael Dixon
Thanks Michael. In actual fact, I did know that, but had forgotten. Ann was , I think, 27, judging by ages on later census. She was christened in 1804. But it does remind me why both boys were shown as the same age.
