They were all seamen and watermen of some sort. In 1871 they were living in what looks like Coopers Cottages North Shields. George Armstrong was 46 born North Shields. He was a Seaman His wife Eleanor was also from North Shields aged 35. Their children were Margery aged 17 later married to a John Nicholson. John aged 15 a waterman he later married Isabella Alder Smith George aged9 Eleanor aged 7 Robert aged 3, Edward and William.plus Henry who was 3 months old. By 1881 Henry Edward and William are in the Union Workhouse while Eleanor and Robert are with their sister Margery and husband John Nicholson.
