I am trying to find the death of ROBERT COX WAUGH born 1873 and his wife MARY HANNAH LONGSTAFF born1875 both Durham, I know they had at least one son George Longstaff Waugh, any help would be appreciated Helen fron NSW

Hi Helen I am not sure whether you have already gone down the paths I outline below, or whether you have obtained the info from (for example) George's Australian marriage certificate? If you click on the district name [in this case Auckland] on FreeBMD you will get more information about where it is etc. You can use the references on FreeBMD to purchase certificates here http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ There are a number of possibilities for the deaths of Robert Cox Waugh & Mary Hannah Waugh, as they may well be just listed as Robert & Mary, no middle names given, as you will see if you have a look yourself. Have you tracked them forward to see where they might be living later in life? You can find out by looking through church records - see www.familysearch.org, click on library tab, then library catalogue. This will take you through to what records are available on film to order at your nearest LDS family history centre for a nominal fee. The library tab will also take you to a list of family history centres in your region. Don't forget that they may not have used the Church of England so have a look at non- conformist records also eg the Methodists.
