Hello List, First the b/g, then the question. From: Caledonian Mercury (Edinburgh, Scotland), Monday, June 22, 1807; Issue 13334 "In the night, between the 29th and 30th of last month, three English ships were stranded near Calais, namely, the WILLIAM & MARY, Capt. Box, the YORK, Capt. Landers, and the corvette JACKALL, commanded by Lieut. Charles Stewart, of the royal navy. The crews were all saved, and made prisoners of war. - Moniteur of June 5." I believe that I had an ancestor aboard the WILLIAM & MARY and am anxious to discover if any lists of names of those made prisoner-of-war exists. So far, I have searched the web unsuccessfully. Q? Can anyone tell me if Le Moniteur is available online or on microfilm or in book form anywhere for June 1807? I know from experience that not all archives list their holdings online, so my appeal is to the collective knowledge of the members of this list. Any help appreciated.
