Looks like you are right.  Wikipedia shows Aklam becoming part of Middlesbrough and GoogleEarth corrects to Buttermere Ave.  Thanks Lancelot for the info.  Now to find who lived at 12 Buttermere Ave, Middlesbrough in 1954. While in the UK, the ships records show they stayed at "12 Buttermore Ave, Aklam, Middlesboro', Yorks". I am hoping that someone might have access to records that show who may have lived at that address in 1954.
