George I obtained Coroners inquests for North Yorkshire from North Yorkshire County Record office at Northallerton so I assume (?) that those for Durham would be available in the equivalent repository for County Durham. I believe Coroners' papers are normally closed for 75 years so you should be able to obtain the one you require. I found them fascinating! PS. If anyone has found a Sayer in their tree recently do get in touch, and we can share information. Regards Laurel Sayer (researching all instances of Sayer in Yorkshire and Durham) From: George Carter <gacarter@btinternet.com> Subject: [ENG-DURHAM] Coroners Inquest Gateshead in 1870 To: ENG-DURHAM@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <389843.52380.qm@web86609.mail.ird.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Would anyone know anything about Coroners Inquests in 1870? If the information could have survived and where it might be kept if the inquest concerned someone from Gateshead?
