It is just south of the market place to the west of the B1404, Seaham Road, which used to be called Blind Well Lane. You can use the Ordnance Survey Gazetteer at <A HREF="http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/freefun/didyouknow/"> http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/freefun/didyouknow/</A> Search for New Town and you will find it is now listed under Sunderland, click on the name and you will get a map which is just to the west of the exact location.
