Details from 1881 census James Allan and Elizabeth Allan no maiden name, residing at the Pilot Hotel, High St, Sunderland, Co Durham, by profession Master mariner. His family at that time consisted of the following. James Allan aged 18 Elizabeth Allan aged 15 Ernest William Allan aged 14 my Grandfather Henry Arthur Allan aged 12 Margaret Allan aged 10 Bertram Allan aged 7 Albert Gordon Allan aged 6 Colin Herbert Allan aged 1 I will be very pleased to hear from anyone with information on any of the above, i should add their religion was Methodist and my Grt Grandfather may be buried in Grangetown cemetery.
