The problem could stem from the e-mail address you're using now being different from the one you used to subscribe with. Even if there is one letter different you won't be able to unsubscribe from the list using the address you use now. Some ISP's do this without their customer's knowledge so you may not even be aware of any change to your address. However, if you have had other e-mail addresses then it's possible you used it or one of them to subscribe to this list.
