Hi List, After a bit of a break from the mailing lists I would like to list my interests in the Durham area. I am looking for information from any of the census from 1871 backwards for Patrick GOVERS who married Sarah CONNOR in the 4th quarter of 1854; he was born about 1840 and died before the 1881 census. I believe that John GOVERS is shown as Patrick’s father on the marriage certificate. The only child that I am aware of is John who was born on the 11th of June 1862 in Sunderland and for some reason, only known to the registrar, his surname on the birth certificate was entered as GOVIS instead of GOVERS.
