I would love to know if anyone can help me with information about the McLeod and Fulton families of Monkwearmouth, Bishopwearmouth, Durham City, Sunderland, and that general area. I live in Australia, but used to live in Bootle, Merseyside. I have, with the help of others, traced my family back to my great great grandfather, Stephen McLeod, B C1796) paper maker, who appears to have lived in Bishopwearmouth. He was deceased when his son George Reuben (B1833) was married in September, 1862 to Elizeabeth (correct spelling) Fulton(B18. also of Bishopwearmouth. Her father was Joseph Fulton, a joiner. Any information which would help me get even further back into the history of my ancesters or help me to find other descendants who may still live in the area would be very much appreciated.
