    1. [SUNDERLAND] Halls from Sunderland
    2. Does anyone have information on William Hall and his wife Mary Walton? The 1881 British census shows William Hall as a widower, a master butcher, born about 1827 in Sunderland, and living at 36 South Street, Crossgate, in Durham, England, in 1881. His wife, Mary Walton of Weardale, had a brother William Walton, who emigrated to Illinois in the 1850s. William Walton's obituary lists his place of birth as Stanhope. Mary and William Hall had 4 children, all born in Sunderland: my grandfather William John Hall (born 1854), Joseph Walton Hall, Edwin Hall, and Clara Ann. Clara married William Thornton and lived at 36 South Street, Durham; all three brothers moved to the United States. With all the recent Hall inquiries, I thought I should add my questions to the list. Any help you can send would be appreciated. Thanks. M. A. Linden
