    3. Thank you for this Stan. Yep - like you say, an expensive memorial. Its just on the outskirts of ward 8. Turns out that the Fred LARKIN married Margaret DOLAN in 1896 at St Mary's. Ah well....the search continues. I've given my sister some other leads to follow regarding the memorial so hopefully she can turn up the info. she wants. thanks again Diane R Sunderland UK Stanmapstone@aol.com wrote: In a message dated 27/10/2004 07:19:51 GMT Daylight Time, oaktree1503@yahoo.co.uk writes: alternatively is anyone researching the LARKIN family. They are not connected to our family, but my sister, like me, is so taken with the monument, she is trying to find a little about its history and the family it commemorates. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. I don't know the monument, but it seems like an expensive memorial. There do not appear to have been many Larkins in Sunderland, in the 1881 Census there is only one family, that of Peter J. Larkin, a publican at the Crown Inn, Bowes Quay. In the 1901 Census Fred Larkin, his son is also an Inn Keeper.
