Hi all, I have recently received a marriage certificate for Robert GOVIS & Elizabeth SPEARING who married at the Parish Church in the parish of Sunderland on 23 April 1849. The residence at the time of marriage for both is shown as Mill Street (I presume Sunderland). As this is only a couple of years before the 1851 census I think that there is a chance that they may still be living in that area. If someone has a copy of that census would they please be so kind as to have a look at Mill Street. The name may appear as GOVERS and I believe Robert may have been born in Ireland.
