    2. I found my missing mariner in the Trafalgar Square Records (Seamens Home Sunderland) published by the NDFHS. He died in 1849 off the coast of Scarbrough from cholera whilst mate of the Mary & Dorothy of Sunderland (all information from record). This helped get me his seamans record at Kew, and found he came from Hampshire, red hair, 5'3'' and literate, plus date of birth A Daniel Toft is listed, an Alan Orrock, and a John & Thomas English. Even if you don't find your ancestor, they make interesting reading. Avril
