Hi - wonder if anyone can help me? I'm doing some research on Backhouse Park in Sunderland and I have been told that there may have been a copy of Edward Backhouse's will, mounted and framed, in either the Library or the old Museum. I have already been in touch with the Local Studies section of the library, but they don't know of it. Has anyone ever seen this and can tell me where I might find it, please? It's a bit of a long shot, but you never know. I'm particularly interested in the wording of his will as it relates to the conditions attached to the use of the park which he bequeathed to the town as it was then. Again I have been told (but I obviously need to check it out) that there was something about the park being...'for the use of the people of Sunderland, their dogs and horses...' or something similar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jem
