    3. Hello Anne I am also a Morrison by birth. It will be interesting if we connect. My grandfather, Alexander MORRISON was born 17 April 1873 in Monkwearmouth. His father, Alexander MORRISON was born 21 September 1830, Monkwearmouth Shore; His father Alexander MORISON was born 21 June 1786 in Edinburgh, his father was William MORRISON born 23 February 1758 also Edinburgh; William married Margaret MORISON born about 1760 and her father was Donald MORISON. Where they were from, I do not know. William and Margaret were married 18 May 1785 at Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh. This may be the line where we may tie in. The Margaret MORISON line. William's father was William MORISON born 8 February 1730 also Edinburgh., his father was James Morison christened 8 May 1698 at St Cuthbert, Edinburgh, his father was Williame Morisone, christened 25 November 1660 at Edinburgh Parish, his father was James MORISONE christened 20 September 1629 at Edinburgh Parish. I have a trip to Scotland in the planning stage to try and find Margaret MORISON and her father, Donald MORISON and where they might be found. I have found several Margaret MORISON's with a father, Donald MORISON from several places and not sure just where they might be from. I thought that if I go to Edinburgh I may find a clue as to where they might be from. My grandfather came to America with his mother, Susannah Webster HILES MORRISON when he was 16 years old. The MORRISON line seemed to follow the shipbuilding industry or the Royal Navy as an occupation. The given names of William, Alexander, James, John and Robert were prominent in my MORRISON family line. I have spelled the names as I found them on the original record. I have found over 36 ways to spell MORRISON including MORREYSOUNE. I will share any information I have with others also. 3. Hello Anne and Jane, My g grandfather, George MORRISON , appears on the 1901 census for Sunderland with his wife Margaret Jane and their children, Margaret Jane, Edward and Kathleen. George was born Scotland about 1867 and was a Tailors cutter. This is the only information I have for him - so far I have not been able to find him anywhere else, other than I remember my mother saying he had a Tailors shop, in a place called Durham Row? Not much to go on, but I wonder if he appears anywhere in your records. Kind regards Barbara TONES born Sunderland - living Melbourne Australia. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anne Ambrose" <anneofgrafton@hotmail.com> To: <ENG-DUR-SUNDERLAND-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 05, 2005 7:45 AM Subject: RE: [SUNDERLAND] Hardy > Hi Jane > > I am a Morrison by birth born in Sunderland.
