    1. [ENG-DUR-SUNDERLAND] Christmas presents for family historians

    3. Still shopping for holiday gifts? Maybe a book would be the right present for your favourite family historian. Over on LancsGen, "Pitfalls and Possibilities in Family History Research" written by Pauline M. Litton has been recommended. Looks like the book is out of print, but there's a version on CD that's still available and, if you prefer printed format, a used copy or two might be available. I've just viewed a presentation by Constance Knox at Genealogy TV of "Five Genealogy Books Everyone Should Have" on YouTube. It can be watched at <> where Connie briefly describes the value of the five books, which are Evidence Explained, by Elizabeth Shown Mills The Family Tree Guide to DNA Testing and Genetic Genealogy, by Blaine Bettinger Genealogy Standards, by The Board for Certification of Genealogists Professional Genealogy, editor Elizabeth Shown Mills Mastering Genealogical Proof, by Thomas W. Jones Family Photo Detective, by Maureen Taylor These all sound very useful, but some of these books are rather expensive. By the way, you can read more about Genealogy TV at <> or subscribe to the YouTube broadcasts (free) at <> or on any other of Genealogy TV's YouTube presentations. Do you have any recommendations for Christmas presents for family historians? Please share! Lynne
