Would the Union Workhouse and the Sunderland Workhouse be one and the same ? I have a Thomas Stoddart died in the Union Workhouse in 1866 and a John Lamb in the Sunderland Workhouse in 1887 I know previous posts have said that the workhouse was also a hospital and dying there would not necessarily mean the person lived there -would that be right in both cases ?
