Hi, With regards to the name of Mack, this is indeed a family name in Co Durham especially in Stockton, which is where a friend of mine called Mack comes from.. When looking through the census returns for him I found that adopting Mack as a surname seemed to be mainly in the north east. In the case of the family I was looking at they shortened it from McGilliecuddy Regards Ian
