*St. Benet’s*, (St. Benet Biscop) The Causeway, Monkwearmouth,but the foundation stone was only laid on 28th July 1888, and completed in July 1889. The mission was founded in 1865, and up to the erection of the church, the schools were utilised as a chapel.
