    2. Branton Family Tree
    3. -----Original Message----- Hello, I would be interested to hear from anyone with access to the 1851 census. Unfortunately I do not have any information on addresses and I am not sure if this creates a difficulty. The names and ages in 1851 are as follows : George MUSHENS (37), Mary MUSHENS (31), William MUSHENS (21), Ann MUSHENS (8), George MUSHENS (6), Sarah Jane MUSHENS (2), William MUSHENS (30), Dorothy MUSHENS (24), Robert MUSHENS (20), William MUSHENS (17). Any assistance greatly appreciated. Regards, Eric Mushins Melbourne, Australia Hi Eric The census is not searchable by name so without an address it is a case of looking through page by page. This would be very time consuming. Regards Sue

    1. COLLINS/JOPLING - Bishopwearmouth
    2. Lucy Bolt
    3. Hello I'm trying to track down anything to do with a William COLLINS who was born in about 1719. He married Dorothy JOPLING on 28.10.1742 in Bishopwearmouth. They had six children that I know of: William (born 1743), Richard (born 1745), Margaret (born 1747, died 1748), Mary (born and died 1749), Fenwick (born 1751, died 1752), and Robert (born 1757 - died 1809, in Ipswich). I've traced William Collins's burial record at Bishopwearmouth in 1763 and he was listed as aged 44 and was a tanner. I believe Dorothy Jopling was christened in 1722 in Bishopwearmouth and was the daughter of Richard Jopling and Margaret Yong (married 01.08.1721 St John's, Newcastle). It would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction for finding William Collins's birth. I've checked in Bishopwearmouth, but couldn't find him. Regards Lucy Bolt

    1. Thomas Davis
    2. Ernie Davis
    3. I am searching for my paternal grandfather, Thomas DAVIS, born about 1830, who turned up in Adelaide, Australia at his second marriage in 1878. He married Ellen Jane JAMES. I do not know where Thomas was born, his marriage certificate did not say, but it did say his father name was Charles DAVIS. Ellen died in 1883. I do not know anything about his first marriage or if there are any children. I suspect that he married a third time. I have checked the IGI/Family search and tried all the leads. Do you have a missing Thomas DAVIS with a father Charles? Regards Ernie Davis ernied1@bigpond.com

    1. Gibson Family
    2. trenoweth
    3. My great grandmother ELIZABETH RACKSTRAW nee GIBSON died in 1913 aged only 32. Her husband JAMES LINCOLN RACKSTRAW emigrated to Australia shortly afterwards where he later remarried. As a result my family knows very little about Elizabeth. I do know from her marriage certificate from 16 April 1900 at the Parish Church of Sunderland, that she was 18 years old (born c 1882) and her father was George Gibson (deceased) a clerk. She was living at 38 Covent Garden Street, Sunderland at the time of her marriage. The family believe she may have had a brother and sister but nothing is known about them. Elizabeth and James named a son George Gibson Rackstraw (after her father) and another child Agnes Scott Rackstraw. "Agnes Scott" is not a name for the Rackstraw family in Sunderland so it may be from Elizabeth Gibson's family. The online census for 1901 does not show an entry for 38 Covent Garden Street, Sunderland. Elizabeth is shown with her husband and six month old child. Surprisingly Elizabeth place of birth is shown as "London". I would be very interested to contact anybody who is related to this Gibson family, or to find something more about this family. I visited Sunderland a few years ago but couldn't find anything about the family. Best wishes Tony Rackstraw

    3. I'm trying to find out information and pictures about the Vaux Breweries from Sunderland, as there seems to be so little on the Internet and Sunderland library only seems to have a 10 page booklet regarding the brewery. This is part of my research into my family ties with Margaret Vaux borm 1778 who married Edward Temperley b. 1767 and married 1799 in Sunderland. Margaret is linked to the Vaux family and Cuthbert Vaux. If anyone has information regarding the breweries, then I would love to know about it. If there are photographs, then I would appreciate copies, they could be emailed to me at the address above. I've currently working on getting the information I already have put onto a couple of web pages, and I'm in contact with an ex employee who might be able to tell me a bit more about the company. Once I've got a website with some content, I'll publish the web address. Many thanks, Andrew Davison
