I have changed my email address to: helen@melcombe.freeserve.co.uk as I am getting far too much spam with the old address - to the extent that I cannot look at my emails when my daughters are around because most of it is so pornographic. I can't use a spam filter/,ail washer as these are not compatible with some aspects of list admin. Studies show that most spam comes from email addresses on static web pages, rather than email addresses shown on mailing lists. I have tried to get my address removed from all pages where I can find it but some webmasters ignore my requests. If you have your own or any one else's address on a web page, remove it or write it as helen at melcombe.freeserve.co.uk (or whatever the address in question is) or in some other format so that there is no clickable link that can be spidered. I know Alan has taken action on the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society web pages to deal with the problem already. Anything to my old address will be filtered into a separate folder and cleared out once a week.
