    3. I am not sure what order my messages are going to come through in, but you will see I include two messages of book reviews. If you have seen a Dorset book/CD/Video etc that you think other listers will enjoy, please post to the list about it. There are two rules: First you cannot, must not, publicise your own book, cd, video or whatever as this is classed as persoanl advertising and is banned. If you have published something yourself and would like a mention made, please come to me in the first instance with full details, include links to website about the book or an email address that people can use for enquiries. I will then post a message to the list telling subscribers that the book is available and giving contact details for further information. I will, however, stress in my message that I have not seen the book and so cannot make any sort of personal recommendation and that it is up to the reader to make further enquiries. This brings me to point two: If you post a review please say whether or not you have read the book or looked at the CD yourself. If you have not done so then you must make this very clear as people may decide whether or not to buy the book on these grounds. You must also put in writing that you have no personal connection with the book or author. If you have, then state what this is, even if very distant. See my Swaffield book message for an example of this. I hope this will clarify the issue and avoid any potential misunderstandings!
