If you are in the Dorset area and have interests in Fontmell Magna, you may be interested to know that the Village Archive Society are holding an exhibition on the history and families of the village. It runs until Friday this week, is held in the village hall and costs £2 per adult. They have some local history books on sale and people on hand to discuss family and local history with visitors. I went there today- well worth making a detour for if you are in the area. If you do not live near the village, don't despair. If you contact me off list I will give you the name and address of the Secretary so that you can join the society and buy their publications. No email or website I'm afraid. Membership costs 5 pounds sterling and if you join now, this will see you through until March 2005. You'll receive a quarterly newsletter and a discount on publications.
