    3. Hi Bev, Can you help me with Mary Ann's parents, who were they? She appears on the 1851 census for Stokenham, aged three, staying with her uncle Edward MITCHELL b. 1803 in Marlbourgh and his family. Edwards brothers were Robert b. 1807/1810 (1851 census) William b. 1812, widower (1851 census) John b. 1815 (1851 census) Williams wife was dead at the time of the 1851 census, and his four children were born in between 1833-1838, so it's perhaps unlikely that Mary Ann was his daughter. Also can you clear up the mystery for me of the wife of a Robert MITCHELL b.1807/1810 in Stokenham. According to the D.F.H.S. print out for marriages 1813 -1837, he married Caroline MACEY on 27/3/1831. In the 1851 census he was married to a Jane b. in Kingsteignton, and Caroline Macey MITCHELL was his daughter. B. 1838 Again in the 1871 census he was married to a Jane b. in Kingsteignton. Do you think he may have remarried before the 1851 census? Having named his daughter after his first wife and also his son was called Allen Macey MITCHELL b. 1835. Any light you can throw on the subject would be much appreciated. Tim Mitchell. (12731) D.F.H.S.
