Tim, One of the children of William STEER and Mary Ann nee DIMENT was Harriet STEER - 21.2.1841 baptised Stokenham, Devon Harriet was married on 23.3.1862 in Stokenham to Robert MITCHELL - 1833/4 born Stokenham. Robert MITCHELL was described as a farm labourer aged 17 in the 1851 census living with his parents Edward and Jane, which is the same household as your Mary Ann. I have some information about Robert and Harriet's descendents. Do you know any more about this Robert's ancestry?
