    1. BACKWELL and CONSENT
    2. Backwell Pat
    3. Hello I am stuck with an ancestor and wonder if anyone has come across the names at all – they are quite unusual. I have a Richard BACKWELL, christened 27th February 1799 in ST SAVIOUR'S DARTMOUTH– son of Mary CONSENT and Richard BACKWELL Mary and Richard married in ST ANDREW'S PLYMOUTH on 2nd November 1800 and had a further 4 children (John, Mary, Alice and Sarah), all of whom were christened in Dartmouth. Although I have a lot of information regarding this man (Richard 1799)’s life and descendants I can’t trace his father. There were BACKWELLs in Plymouth and Crediton at the time but none of them fit age-wise or else are married to someone else. I think CONSENT may be a corruption of CONSTANT. Has anyone come across either of these names in their searches? I'd be grateful for any information and happy to share any I have that's of use to someone else. Best wishes Pat Backwell ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger - NEW crystal clear PC to PC calling worldwide with voicemail http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com
