Hi Anne If you go to www.FamilySearch.org you will find a SAMUEL FURSEY ARTHUR baptised 14 Apr 1811 in West Teignmouth, Devon. Sounds like your man. Hi Sue, I've looked at the 1851 census entry for Samuel ARTHUR and guess what? With more clues and place names (provided by Sue & Arthur) I have been able to make out the place of birth as written in the original census entry. It is Devon, Easttinmouth. Yes! Spelt as it was possibly pronounced, Easttinmouth (East Teignmouth) How great is that? Spot on Sue. Thanks again to all for the help provided.
