Sandra, Philip Wilson STEER - 28.12.1860 born Birkenhead, Cheshire, baptised St John's Church, Birkenhead - 1942 died Painter, educated at Hereford Cathedral School Awarded O.M. 1931 1934 - living at 109 Cheyne Walk, S.W.10 (Tel. Flaxman 7652)]. Never married. He was the son of Philip STEER and Emma nee HARRISON Philip's only sibling was Thomas STEER - 1812 born - 1884 died, who farmed at Borough. So he was uncle to Philip Wilson STEER and some sort of cousin to the George STEER/STEERS who designed the America, the yacht that won the race round the Isle of Wight in 1851 and after which the Americas Cup is named. The second S in George's name was added in America.
