I have traced my Samuel ARTHUR b 1811 in the 1881 census, see a copy below. Name: Samuel Fursey Arthur. Spouse: Nora. Birth: abt 1811 - Tynmouth, Devon, England Residence: 1881 - Bristol St Paul In, Gloucestershire, England The place of birth has been transcribed as Tynmouth, Devon, England, but isn't Tynmouth in Northumberland, England? What other name would resemble Tynmouth? It could be Lynmouth, Dartmouth or Sidmouth. I have looked at a copy of the original 1881 census and cannot make out the spelling. Could someone with knowledge of the county towns of Devon look at this census record please? I need a second opinion. Also is anyone researching the name ARTHUR?
