If anyone is aware of any BISHOP baptisms in early PRs for the South Hams Parishes (which are not in the IGI) please let me know. I am happy to buy fiche but there are so many parishes and I don't know where to start. I am looking for the baptism of Thomas BISHOP who married Elizabeth SLUMAN in 1745 at Staverton. The only BISHOP entries in Staverton (apart from Thomas's descendants) are a burial in 1615 (George son of Robert) and couple of baptisms and a burial for children of George in 1691 and 1694. I think George married Jane POMEROY in 1689 at Buckfastleigh, had 2 children baptised in the neighbouring parish of Staverton and then moved to Modbury where they had more children (all from the IGI). It would be interesting to find where George was baptised too, his family include most of the family names in Thomas's family (but no Thomas).
