    1. Scattered Ashes Web-site
    2. Beverley Edmonds
    3. Sorry the URL is , www.scatteredashes.net Cheers Bev Goodmorning everyone. Have you ever wondered how anyone in hundreds of years time are ever going to find where their ancestors were scattered, well the answer might lie with the following web-site which is still in it's infancy. This new site [ my idea ] was brought up at one of our meetings a few months ago. I had just lost my dear friend to cancer in Tasmania and it worried me that in the future no one would know where she was buried. In fact her ashes were scattered, hence no grave stone. So the idea for a web-site was born. There has now been added a link for world wide submissions. Look at some of the Australian entries under the letter " M " to give you an idea of what can be submitted. Bev. Edmonds

    3. Thanks, Bev. I have John as 16 not 6. Otherwise I agree. 3. Hi, Just in case anyone is very confused with the family listed below in the 1851 census. Susan the daughter aged 22 yrs is in fact the wife of William WILLS who is recorded as the son in law aged 23 yrs. Their son John is one yr old. The rest of the children from Fanny down are all HUTCHING children, that is all of them are the children of Thomas and Frances [nee DIMENT/DIAMOND]. 1. Re: Burnett Morris Name Index
    2. Bev I haven't seen it on film (I didn't even know it had been filmed!) but when I was in Devon last month I spent three days in the Devon Local Studies library transcribing the WINDEATT entries. It was definitely worth while - of course quite a bit of stuff was known about already but there was lots more . . . The dates, however, tended to be fairly early (16th and 17th centuries) or rather late (1930s contemporary to when he was doing it I guess) and I didn't get much around the era which we know least about (19th century) but still very worth while having a look. It is just an index, however, and you still need to go looking in other places to chase them up . . . and I haven't done too much of that yet . . . Good luck! This William and Mary also have a son named Silas. Silas is such an unusual name and I can't help but think that Williams age is incorrect on the 1851 census. Has any else chased this family? Can you please tell me if William c 1804 [or 1811] is in fact the s/o William DENBOW and Mary BOND. Cheers and grateful thanks Bev. 3. Hi Jack :) "True, but don't forget that the onset of puberty has fallen very significantly in the past 150 years. An eleven year old in 1841 might reasonably be expected to have been at the same stage as an eight or nine year old today. I would rate the possibility not as unlikely but as so improbable as to be insupportable. There is no comment in the margin of the baptism register, I checked." I hadnt thought of onset of puberty, that's one side of history I haven't really "delved" into I must confess! ;) Thanks very much for checking the register, that clears that one up at least!! :D Looks like I was barking up the wrong tree, again. "I don't know the period she was on the parish as an out door pauper" I don't either so I'm just going to have to bide my time till I can make it over to England I think, check into these things for myself. It's a bit much to be asking someone to do it for me for free so it's either do it myself or hire Pastfinders.net again. I'm not in any major rush, although I WOULD like to knock down these brick walls the Eastleys and Mugridges have in front of me. "It was only two days!" Which is actually slow for me, which goes to show I need a different hobby!! ;D The kids are improving, thanks, it's just colds and snotty noses although that's bad enough with "Irish twins"!! Thanks again for your help Jack, you've been great! :D Take care, Rob.

    3. I'm looking for the origins of Susanna FOOT who married John Knowles in Stoke Damerel in 1797. I haven't found her baptism in Stoke Damerel and was wondering if she may have come from Ashburton. Does anyone have information on:- (1) Thomas and Joan FOOT - parents of Susana FOOT christened 3 Aug 1777 in Ashburton (2) Isabella FOOT christened 21 Oct 1739 in Ashburton 1739, who could be related. Another Lister pointed out that "Isabella" isn't a common name and Susanna FOOT and John KNOWLES' first child was christened Isabella (baptized St James, Paddington 1803). I'd really appreciate any help, Val Queensland
