    1. MARSHMAN-TREMETHICK Marriage, Salcombe 1916
    2. I wonder if anyone has access to the Salcombe Parish Records and can do a lookup for me, please. I have found Patience TREMETHICK and Ernest MARSHMAN, (online) banns in Salcombe, abt Dec. 1916. Is it possible to find out Patience's parents? I have two Patiences, one born in 1872 in Newlyn, Cornwall, and the other born in 1892 in Kingsbridge, Devon. I tend to think it is the latter who married Ernest MARSHMAN but another family researcher disagrees. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Barb in Hawaii USA

    1. Hatton, Jefford = Aveton Gifford
    2. Michael Mitchelmore
    3. Thanks to all those who helped me sort this one out. Opinion was unanimous that the William in question came from Aveton Gifford. I did not realise that the "v" is often omitted and that the "G" can be soft. Debmsher pronunciation wins again! 1. Assisting census requests
    2. Without meaning to sound stuffy. Can I please point out that there a lot of people on this, and similar, lists...Between us all we have access to a fantastic range of information and most people on these lists are only too happy to look requests up. When someone puts a request out online for help it is only fair that you should bother to acknowledge their time and trouble, from experience it makes you feel less likely to help somebody else. 1. GEE family
    2. Tom Stevenson
    3. Can anyone help as I seem to have found the legendry "brick wall". I have traced my family back to George GEE who was born in Stokenham in around 1802. He married Mary Anne ELIOTT, OTP, at Charleton by banns on 22 Mar 1825. Another clue could be his brother Solomon GEE who married Mary Kelland on 26 April 1825 in Sherford but I don't have his d.o.b. I am looking for the parents of George and/or Solomon GEE. Can you help please or if not tell me where I might look as I am staying at Torcross next week. Tom Stevenson Apologies if this gets posted twice as I don't think the first effort worked, though it might have.
